Privacy policy

This policy applies to the Quick Image Saving via CSS Selector Chrome extension, published by Dev Raiks. It describes everything the extension processes, what it keeps on your device, and what it never does.

What the extension processes

Quick Image Saving processes the CSS selector you enter, an optional URL-cleanup regular expression, the image URLs matched on the page you selected, and the corresponding image bytes. This processing is necessary to create the ZIP file you requested.

All of it happens inside your browser. The selector, the matched URLs, and the image bytes are never transmitted to Dev Raiks.

What is stored on your device

The extension keeps the following in chrome.storage.local, which remains inside your own Chrome profile:

• Recent selector and regular-expression history, limited to the last five of each.
• Your options, including the Keep original names setting and the Cross-Origin Mode choice.
• The selector and regex currently typed into the popup, so closing the popup does not discard your work.
• Your light or dark theme preference.
• Migration metadata used to carry history safely across extension updates.
• Temporary download progress while a save is running.
• A summary of your most recent download — the number of images that succeeded or failed, and whether any file was converted — so the result is still readable when you reopen the popup. It holds counts and status only, not image addresses.

The download report inside your ZIP

From version 0.0.0.9, every ZIP the extension creates contains a text file named quick-image-saving-report.txt. It records the page you downloaded from, the selector and regex you used, how many files of each format were saved, and the web address each saved file came from.

This file is written inside your browser and placed in the archive that is downloaded to your computer. It is not uploaded, and no copy of it is sent anywhere. It exists so you can trace an image back to its source later.

Cross-Origin Mode

In version 0.0.0.4 and later, Cross-Origin Mode can request a selected image through the extension service worker when the web page's normal request is blocked by CORS. The request goes directly to the website that hosts the image. It is not proxied through Dev Raiks. If you are signed in to the source website, that website may receive its existing credentials with the image request.

How information is used

The processed values and image bytes are used only to find the images you selected, download them, create ZIP files locally, preserve your extension history and settings, display progress, and recover safely across extension updates.

The extension does not send this information to Dev Raiks servers, and does not use it for advertising, analytics, credit decisions, sale, or any unrelated purpose.

Sharing

Quick Image Saving does not sell or share extension data with data brokers, advertisers, or analytics providers. Image requests are sent to the source websites that host those images, as required to complete your download. Those websites process the requests under their own privacy policies.

Retention and deletion

History and settings remain in your local extension storage until you delete an individual history item, use Clear all, clear the extension's site data, or remove the extension. Temporary progress state is removed when a download completes, fails, or is canceled. The stored download summary is replaced by your next download.

Permissions

Quick Image Saving requests only the following, and only for the reasons given:

• storage — to keep local history, settings, migration metadata, and temporary download state.
• Access to HTTP and HTTPS pages — to find the image elements your selector matches.
• HTTP and HTTPS host access (version 0.0.0.4 and later) — to fetch only the selected image URLs when Cross-Origin Mode is used.
• scripting (version 0.0.0.4 and later) — to reinstall the extension's own downloader in a tab that stayed open across an extension update, so a save completes without reloading the page. It runs only when you start a save, targets only the active tab, and injects only files included in the extension package.

Developer website

The extension contains an optional link to https://devraiks.com/. Opening that link leaves the extension and loads the developer website, whose own privacy notice and server practices apply.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be published at this same public URL with an updated effective date. Chrome Web Store disclosures will also be updated whenever the extension's data practices change.
